ABOUT
Hi, I’m Katie
Katie grew up in southern West Virginia and now calls the Appalachian mountains of western North Carolina home, a place that continues to shape her connection to nature and rhythm. She attended Marshall University before heading to film school in New York City to study acting, later moving to Los Angeles where she ran a successful acting studio for ten years, teaching actors the business side of the craft. It was in LA that she completed her 300-hour Tantra Yoga teacher training and discovered her love for health coaching, going on to earn her certification through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, a 900-hour certification as an Ayurvedic Health Counselor, and a 12-week certification in Somatic Nervous System Regulation.
As an Ayurvedic Health Counselor and Integrative Holistic Health Coach, Katie supports women navigating chronic symptoms, burnout, and nervous system dysregulation through her signature framework, The RIPE Method. She approaches her work as both a practitioner and someone with lived experience in the healing she teaches, helping clients build the trust, rhythm, and embodiment needed for lasting change.
Over the years, her approach as a practitioner has evolved into a core belief: symptoms are messengers from your body, guiding you toward where balance has been lost and showing you the path back to wholeness; mind, body, and spirit.
In her free time, Katie enjoys hiking in the mountains any chance she gets, practicing yoga, playing around with herbs and health tonics in the kitchen, gardening, and spending time with family.
It started when…
My passion for helping others heal comes from walking this path myself. Fifteen years ago, I was struggling with chronic bloating and stomach pains so severe they made me look seven months pregnant. After multiple emergency room visits where I'd arrive doubled over in pain, I was finally diagnosed with celiac disease.
Going gluten-free was just the beginning. Despite trying every diet and healing protocol I could find, I continued battling golf ball-sized cystic acne, persistent digestive issues, and crushing fatigue. Like so many others, I spent years bouncing from doctor to doctor, often being told my symptoms were "all in my head."
But I knew there had to be more to the story.
In 2013, I received a diagnosis that changed everything: Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, an autoimmune condition affecting the thyroid. The relief of finally having answers mixed with the shock of an autoimmune diagnosis became the catalyst for my true healing journey. I was tired of being tired and knew I had to take matters into my own hands.
My healing path led me through:
🧘🏻♀️ 300-hour Tantra Yoga teacher training and transformative trips to India and Bali to explore energy and spiritual healing
🥑 Certification from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition to learn how to truly nourish my body
🧠 Nervous system work after discovering I was living with toxic mold exposure (and developing mold illness), which deepened my understanding of the brain-body connection through trainings in Brain Re-Wiring, Somatic Embodiment, and Nervous System Regulation
❤️ Ayurveda School and Feminine Form Medicine to understand the ancient wisdom of healing and the unique needs of women's bodies
What began as my desperate search for answers became my life's work. Each challenge, from celiac to Hashimoto's to mold illness, taught me something new about the body's incredible capacity to heal when given the right support.
I'm honored you're here and took the time to learn about my journey. If you're curious about how I can support you on your own healing path, I'd love to connect with you.
In health & healing,
Katie
